I became a parish councillor in September 2013 and am currently Chair of the Council and Finance Committee as well as sitting on the Traffic Working Group. I have lived in the Rake for over 25 years and before that spent 25 years in the locality (Liphook, Chichester and Bognor.)
I have always been interested local government and spent the first half of my career working for West Sussex County Council. I moved to the private sector, ending up as a director of the UK’s leading specialist transport planning consultancy. After retiring I worked part-time for my own consultancy for five years.
I have been Chair of the Rake Village Hall Management Committee since 2010.
I became a councillor for two reasons. Firstly, I wish to use my time, skills and experience to enhance community life and amenities within the parish and to improve the workings of the council. Secondly, I wish to represent the views and interests of Rake villagers in the decisions of the Parish Council.
