The main elements of the plan are:
- Existing roads subject to 30mph speed restrictions reduced to 20mph.
- A new 40mph section of the A272 on the western approach to the village (coming from the Petersfield direction) to be created as a buffer zone leading up to the new 20mph zone
- Two sets of ‘Village Gateways’ integrating speed restrictions signs to be installed prominently on both sides of the A272 road. These to be positioned as follows:
- the change to the 20mph speed restriction at the western approach near the entrance to the Parsonage Estate
- the change to the 40mph speed restriction on the A272 before Fyning on the eastern approach to Fyning/Rogate.
- There is no change to the 40mph zone on the eastern approach to Rogate. We requested the 30mph limit to be extended but this was rejected.
- Changes designed to protect the church wall from further damage
Subject to all the necessary approvals it is hoped it will be implemented in 2025/2026.
