My husband and I moved to Rogate in 1997, and since then have played an active role in village life. We have taken part in many village activities over the years, especially the Summer Fete and greatly value the community spirit so evident here.
I have served as Secretary to the Parochial Church Council since 2006, and have been a member of the Parish Council for the past three years.
I sit on the Planning Committee and am Chair of the Open Spaces Committee, a role which reflects my love of the local landscape. My husband and I enjoy walking and feel ourselves very fortunate in having such a wealth of beautiful countryside to explore all around us.
Since my retirement from teaching, in addition to my village-based activities, I volunteer as a room steward at Uppark and also serve as a governor to a school for autistic children in Dunsfold. I enjoy painting and have used some of my pictures of nature, as well as those kindly donated by other artists in the village to illustrate the nature posters in the noticeboard on Fyning Common.
